Sarita Kumari Saday, a bright and determined girl, is a learner at the Bargadhi Udaan Learning Center Level 1. Born into a humble family, Sarita faced numerous challenges in accessing education. Her father, Raj Kumar Saday, works as a wage laborer, while her mother, Prameshwori Devi Saday, is engaged in Zyala Manduri work. Despite financial struggles, Sarita’s aspirations to learn and grow never wavered.
With the support of Care Nepal and Samagra Jan Utthan Kendra, Sarita and other girls from her community were trained through the BEZOS Project from June 2024 to the present. This initiative aimed to bring out-of-school girls to the learning center and provide them with continuous education to support formal education. From June 12, 2024, Sarita started attending the Bargadhi Udaan Learning Center.
The Udaan Learning Center adopted an activity-based learning approach, making education enjoyable and effective. Different subjects, including Nepali, English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, were taught through various innovative methods:
Initially, Sarita struggled with even recognizing her name. However, with perseverance and support, she made remarkable progress. She learned to introduce herself, write her name, read books, and even teach younger children. Her knowledge expanded beyond academics—she became aware of discipline, time management, and the importance of education.
Today, Sarita is a confident and regular learner at the Bargadhi Learning Center. She has not only excelled in her studies but has also grown into a disciplined and responsible individual. Her dream is to become a teacher, ensuring that other children, especially girls, receive the education they deserve.
Sarita’s transformation has brought immense joy to her parents, who once feared that their daughter would remain uneducated due to financial hardships. Now, they proudly watch as she reads, writes, and speaks fluently in both Nepali and English. Her journey is a testament to the power of education and the impact of community-driven initiatives.
Sarita’s story is one of resilience and determination. From a girl who could not write her own name to an aspiring teacher, her journey is truly inspiring. Thanks to the efforts of Care Nepal, Samagra Jan Utthan Kendra, and the Bezos Project, she has found her path toward a brighter future.
